Mega Labour Event on Awareness and Disbursement of Benefits Under BOCW
For the purpose of facilitating the BOCW Benefits to the construction workers and their families, CREDAI-Pune Metro jointly with Labour Department have organised this initiative at Nanded City on Saturday, 3rd Nov, 2018. There was overwhelming response for this particular event as more than 1150 labourers from various developers including Nanded City like Rohan Builders, Kalpataru Group, B.U.Bhandari Landmarks, Shubham Housing Developers P. Ltd, DNV Builders, Paranjape Schemes Construction Ltd, Varsha Builders attended the event.
The main dignitaries for this Mega Labour Event were. Mr. Sambhajirao Patil Nilangekar , Hon’ ble Minister for Labour and Skill Development, Govt.of Maharashtra, Mr.Shailendra Pol, Addl. Commissioner of Labour, Mr. Vikas Panvelkar, Dy.Commissioner of Labour, Mr.Raut, Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Mr. Mujawar, Labour Officer, and other members were Mr.Shrikant Paranjape, President CREDAI-Pune Metro

Mr.Sambhajirao Patil Nilangekar informed that BOCW Board has increased the subsidy to own their home for labouers from Rs. 2 Lakhs to 2.5 Lakhs and considering the subsidy received from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the total subsidy will be Rs. 5 Lakhs. Similarly the construction worker is unorganised, so he is deprived from getting various welfare benefits declared by BOCW Board.
Mr.Satish Magar, Elect President CREDAI-National has taken lead for fulfilment of dream of own house of labourers. Govt.of Maharashtra is committed to solve the issue of own houses of construction labourers. He has also given instructions to concerned authorities in labour department to distribute the cheques of beneficiaries immediately. Similarly there is emerging need of skilled labour force to cater the technological advancement in construction industry.
Mr.Shrikant Paranjape, President CREDAI-Pune Metro briefed that CREDAI-Pune Metro through Labour Welfare Committee has always proactive in implementation of various Labour Welfare initiatives. We on behalf of CREDAI-Pune Metro are committed The Labour Welfare Committe has done the excellent work by arranging this Mega Labour Event bringing the Labour Dept, Builders and workers on same platform. We would surely like to extend this movement further for the benefit of workers.
Mr. J.P.Shroff, Chairman CREDAI-Kushal and Labour Welfare Committee explained the activities of Labour Welfare Committee giving emphasis to Labour Registration and Health Checkup Camps and KUSHAL giving emphasis to NSDC initiatives and success in World Skill Competition.
Mr.Shilendra Pol, Addl.Commissioner Labour Dept. explained the various schemes of BOCW Board in brief and assured that under the able guidance of Hon’ble Minister we will be distributing the various benefits to registered construction workers. He declared that the amount of Rs.5000/- has been deposited in the accounts of beneficiaries.
Mr.Sanjiv Kumar Sabhavat Indiaskills 2018 winner in Wall and Floor, Mr.Sanjeevkumar Meghawat from KUSHAL team were felicitated at the hands of Hon’ble Labour Minister also other beneficiaries from Nanded City, Rohan Builders, Kalpataru Group were awarded with Cheque and Safety/Essential Kits.
Mr.Ranjit Naiknavare, Hon. Secretary CREDAI-Pune Metro expressed special vote of thanks to Mr.Satish Magar and Nanded city concerned staff for making the Hall available, similarly All Labour Welfare Committee Members and Staff from CREDAI-Pune Metro and Kushal who have made this Mega Labour Event grand and successful and last but not the least Labouers . He further stated that we have joined hands with MahaRERA for Training of 500 plus Master Trainers for giving training to more than 20 lakh labours working on Residential and Commercial MahaRERA registerd projects in overall Maharashtra and by evaluating the viability of BOCW funds for this purpose and also requested to consider other Labour Welfare Activities Health Checkup and Creche on his agenda as well.
